The Scent of Departure: Eau De Destination

May 29, 2012

Gérald Ghislain and Magali Sénéquier, described as the "Globetrotter–perfumers" behind The Scent of Departure, decided to bottle the love of travel, counting on the power of scent to help voyagers recall their experience in favorite locations.

The unisex eau de toilettes are blended from scents prevalent in each worldwide city, and packaged to resemble luggage tags and named after airport codes to even further push nostalgia. The concoctions are thoroughly considered, too -- NYC, New York plays on Central Parks's lilac and rose, breezes off the harbour and, of course, crisp apples. CDG, Paris combines the flowers and greenery of Tuileries with lime trees and rose gardens. And MUC, Munich reaches for the very specific experience of an outdoor iced lemon tea in the lilac laden Englischer Garten.
