What is a Transportation Design and Production Agency? (and why you need one.)

What-is-a-Transportation-Design-and-Production-Agency?

There are numerous professions that require building a virtual team of outsourced B2B partners. For example, whether you are a corporate event planner, a wedding planner or a DMC (Destination Management Company), your clients entrust the success of their complex vision to your planning, vendor selection, and execution.

For virtually every need, there are consummate professionals whose entire business is based on building great relationships that stand the test of time placing an emphasis on developing a sustainable and repeatable business with a key number of accounts. For illustration, if you are planning a wedding you may reach out to B2B partners in the following industries: floral, catering, photography, music (bands / DJs), entertainment, design, tent, security, lighting, etc. In each instance, these vendors are highly specialized and a significant part, if not all, of their business, hiring, training and energy is devoted to producing these weddings and events.

Any company can take you from A to B, maybe they’ll do so in a comfortable fashion, maybe they’ll do so expeditiously, but nobody’s really elevating the game to the same level we are which we call the Art of Transportation.

Brilliant's Latest Addition: The Mobility Van

February 11, 2015

MV-1-

We are pleased to announce that we now offer our luxury chauffeured transportation service to wheelchair users with the introduction of our brand new Brilliant Mobility Van.  While others call their vehicles Wheelchair Accessible Vans (or WAV), we prefer a more respectful name seeing our vehicle as a solution allowing clients to regain mobility.

Accordingly, our wheelchair accessible vehicle will be called by the solution it provides (mobility) versus a physical description of the vehicle itself (wheelchair accessible).  While this naming convention may be subtle, the nuance speaks volumes towards our approach to working with the most influential people on the planet.  We focus on peoples challenges and needs and then problem-solve.

How Brilliant Impressed a Legendary Travel Agent

How_Brilliant_Impressed_A_Legendary_Travel-1

I had a very interesting conversation with a legendary travel agent earlier this week. Few travel agents have “Members” instead of clients and even fewer charge initial admission fees of $100,000. So, as you might imagine, this person who was as nice and professional as you can imagine, wasn’t particularly impressed by yet another “chauffeured limousine service.” She also wasn’t particularly moved by the fact that our fleet was unique and focused primarily on small group moves (and large corporate events and weddings) using luxury Mercedes Sprinter Vans.

Why We Are Focusing on You, Not Your Phone

Being Superior to Uber

Everyone I run into asks me incessantly, “has Uber hurt your business?” Another question I get constantly is, “when are you coming out with your own Uber app?” (which, incidentally is all the rage - every service is coming out with similar copycat functionality!)” Helpful folks also offer this sage advice, “you really need to invest in technology to keep up!”

As I often do, I reflect, pause and contemplate. I find sharing my response collectively with all our readers, internet users, leads, and clients to be cathartic and a great means to share insights into our brilliant culture and drive.

So, to begin, at Brilliant, we have always been technology enthusiasts and driven by efficiencies, scale, knowledge gathering, and sharing enabled by technology. As such, we have a very significant research and development commitment. We’re staffed with our own, full-time developers working on behind-the-scenes custom programs and integrations. These software integrations enable us to do our job consistently with one goal in mind: to serve you better.

The True Cost of Transporting Your Company's Executives

March 16, 2014

business meeting in a mobile office

I had a call with a prospective client yesterday; a call I’ve had hundreds of times before. The same question, it seems, is on a lot of people’s minds.

The caller was from one of the largest most prestigious law firms in NYC. He had a “strange request,” which I assured him would be quite normal for our service since we specialize in transportation most car services don’t ordinarily handle.

The Best Way to Travel to Hard-to-Reach Destinations in New England

March 11, 2014

travel to hard-to-reach places in New England

If you have to travel to remote or hard to reach places in the New England area, your options are limited and can range from inexpensive to very costly. Obviously one of the easiest, albeit painful, solutions is to drive yourself.  While this affords maximum flexibility at a low cost, a busy executive or family looking to enjoy their time together will have a poor experience.

At the other end of the spectrum is using a private jet to get around. While this can be a terrific solution if budget is no concern, it too has some drawbacks; the closest FBO may be hours away from your desired destination. Not to mention, weather can often destroy even the best laid plans for private aviation.
