Hotel Gansevoort in NYC's Meatpacking District has opened a new bi-level Asian fusion restaurant, TOY. Serving modern Chinese and Japanese cuisine, the decidedly 80s style establishment (splashes of neon, mirrored fractal decor, nightclubby feel...) breaks out into four distinct areas: indoor/outdoor oyster bar, outdoor dining area, two-level dining room and the requisite private dinning room. Order from a range of sharable plates (Shrimp ‘toast’ Cigars), shellfish, sushi rolls and, of course, spirited cocktails replete with colorful curly straws adorned with hanging monkeys!)
